DiSTRICT 14 -- A SELECT DISTINGUISHED DISTRICT

During the 80th Toastmasters International Convention in Las Vegas August 16-20, 2011, District 14 was recognized for its 2010-2011 achievements. Of the 88 Toastmasters Districts worldwide, District 14 ranked #11 in the world earning the Select Distinguished District recognition.

"Accept the Challenges so you may feel the Exhilaration of Victory" is what the 2010-2011 District Governor Roy Ganga remarked when asked how he felt about this achievement.

Have we not only accepted the challenge of leading this enormous district to success but also ensured our members, who are the center of this organization, received the quality return on their Toastmasters investment. Achieving Select Distinguished District status was just the icing on the cake; what really matter is our member's satisfaction and the success of our clubs," said Roy.

It was indeed a proud moment for the District 14 conventioneers when they took to the world stage in Las Vegas to be recognized as one of 6 Districts to earn the Select Distinguished District status. Awards for Select Distinguished District Governor and Excellence in Leadership was presented to Roy Ganga , Excellence in Education & Training award was presented to Kene Iloenyosi and Excellence in Marketing award was presented to Dwight Jones.

Another proud moment in Las Vegas was the International speech contest. District 14 Champion of Public Speaking Anne Taylor competed in the semi-finals and wowed the audience. Her performance earned her 3rd place in the semifinals.

Congratulations Anne and Congratulations Roy, Kene and Dwight for your exceptional leadership and service to District 14.
